Democratic Party Newsletter

Democratic Party Newsletter
Thank you for your interest in the Democratic Party site newsletter. This weekly, free newsletter will cover a range of topics related to the Democratic Party.

Being politically- minded means having an opinion and not always agreeing with what we're told. The newsletter and Democratic Party forum are places we can discuss politics and agree with, or questions, the actions of our political leaders. Different than the weekly online articles at Bellaonline.com, the newsletter will discuss hot topics and what's happening with the party, both good and bad.

The next Presidential campaign is around the corner; get ready for the silly season. As we close in on the 2012 election, I will use the newsletter to keep readers informed about campaign activity and provide information about how to become active in the party.

Just for fun, I will include a "Quote of the Week" to highlight a funny, famous, or infamous quote from the political world.

"There are a few things in life harder to find and more important to keep than love. Well, love and a birth certificate." – President Barack Obama, at the 2010 White House Correspondents' Dinner.

The newsletter will cover topics not robust enough to warrant an article at the Democratic Party site. For example, quick blurbs about Congressional happenings or an interesting "this day in history" fact.

The newsletter will also link to my most recent articles. My current live articles include:

Grizzly Mama Myth

This article discusses the manufacture of the Grizzly Mama by political consultants and the right's efforts to co-opt the left's traditional pro-children, pro-family platform.

Commonwealth Club of California

This article introduces readers to the engaging programming offered by the California Club of California. The Club presents ideologically diverse speakers and forums to educate and inform the public.

"Casino Jack and the United State of Money" (by filmmaker Alex Gibney)

Money, greed, corruption, and politics, and a tale made for Hollywood movies. But this story is true. Read about the 2010 documentary about Jack Abramoff and his web of lies and deceit.
